NEW! Irish Database published by Eneclann and Lendac The 1851 Dublin City Census, compiled and edited by Sean Magee Including the 1847 Ordinance Survey Town Plans of Dublin City The destruction of the 19th century Irish Census returns is probably the greatest loss that genealogy in Ireland has suffered. Prior to the destruction of the 1851 census, Dr. D.A. Chart of the Public Record Office compiled a comprehensive list of the names and addresses of heads of  households for Dublin City. This unique genealogical source has now been edited and converted to database format by Seán Magee making it available to all
researchers worldwide. It contains over 60,000 names and addresses (and some occupations) in the city of Dublin. This publication contains over 60,000 names and addresses and all 33 Ordnance Survey Town Plans of Dublin City from 1847, courtesy of Dublin Corporation.  The cost to purchase this CD-ROM is IR200.00 for libraries or other organizations. Give us a call at 01-677-6133 or email info@lendac.ie to place your order

OVID launches OVID@HAND

Clinicians who want a more convenient way to order medical information database searches or learn about new journal articles will be able to handle these important responsibilities directly from a Palm Pilot, Handspring Visor or other hand-held device, thanks to Ovid@Hand, a new product developed by Ovid Technologies and Unbound Medicine.

With Ovid@Hand, clinicians will be able to enter requests for specific information, articles or searches directly into their hand-held device at any time throughout the day. They can also review the latest tables of contents from their own pre-selected personal library of leading medical journals. Whenever they sync their hand-held device with their computer, Ovid@Hand instantly and automatically fulfills the requests, including database searches, access to full text articles and much more.

"Most clinicians don't have the time to read through all the journals they need, and they are unable to record and order all the searches they want each day. As a result, they miss important news and many essential searches never happen. Ovid@Hand completely automates the process, allowing clinicians to handle these critical responsibilities at the very moment they need them or think of them," said Cheryl Chisnell, vice president, clinical and academic products at Ovid  Technologies.

"More and more, access to information is essential to clinicians all throughout the day. Ovid@Hand uses the latest in software and hand-held technology to bring clinicians much closer to all of the information they need at the exact moment they need it," Ms. Chisnell said.  Call Lendac at 01-677-6133 for a demo!
